Russia's Uchalinsky ore enrichment plant produced 180,438 tonnes of copper concentrate containing 27,066 tonnes of copper in the first seven months of this year, its owners said on Monday.

A statement by Urals Mining and Metals Co (UMMC), Russia's second largest copper firm, said output of copper concentrate and contained metal rose by 3.1 percent from the same period of 2003.

The plant, located in the autonomous republic of Bashkortostan in the southern Urals, produced 142,556 tonnes of zinc concentrate, containing 64,150 tonnes of zinc in January-July 2004, a 4.3 percent rise year-on-year.

Uchalinsky plans to produce over 301,000 tonnes of copper concentrate this year, close to the 2003 volume, the statement said.
